Integrated heating, mounting kit VdS 2 short
VdS approval G110045, class C
Small, lightweight and cost-effective measuring system developed for VdS-compliant installation according to Class C, for indoor use and with restrictions for outdoor use.
The LMC1xx laser measurement system presents itself as a "small" and cost-effective alternative within the family of SICK laser measurement systems and to other existing solutions, especially when high ranges and speeds are not the primary consideration. The system is handy in size and weight, space-saving with transmitter and receiver in one housing, low in purchase price and operating costs. On the other hand, the innovation is "big": the multi-echo technology increases availability outdoors and even allows installation behind glass.
Simple integration into the Honeywell intruder alarm systems of the MB series via a tested interface in conjunction with, for example, a DUO I/O module (010120.17/010130.10) on the BUS-2.
* Note on planning/implementation in outdoor areas:
When planning, any shading and attenuation of the laser light, e.g. due to air outlets where steam is generated, as well as uneven ground, shading by objects, e.g. building edges, stairs, entrances, trees, antennas, etc. must be taken into account. If these conditions are not known in the planning phase, an on-site inspection is essential for the final planning in order to determine the exact positioning and number of laser scanners.
- VdS software switchable to normal software
- The only laser scanner on the market with VdS certification
- Highest class "C" with environmental class II or IVa
- Flexible connection to DC 9 V to 30 V
- 2 isolated relays (alarm) and a tampering output
- High detection range of 20 m, horizontal and vertical
- Up to 10 freely definable monitoring fields, intelligent evaluation algorithms
- Quick-start menu for VdS-compliant setting
- No wiring of transmitter and receiver necessary
- VdS certificate guarantees a reliable system and is recognized by insurance companies
- Impenetrable thanks to high angular resolution through a finely "woven" security veil
- Reliable and high availability with a reduced false alarm rate thanks to precise teach-in of the field boundaries
- Small size for invisible installation
- Intelligent integrated evaluation for maximum application flexibility
- Low maintenance costs due to high resistance to environmental influences
- Max. 10 fields, VdS 1 field
- Infrared light source (905 nm)

Notes on the use of a VdS laser scanner in outdoor areas:
Due to the lack of VdS guidelines for outdoor areas, the detector can only be considered a VdS solution to a limited extent.
According to the VdS guidelines, the detector must also be operated in outdoor areas in accordance with the triggering criteria that are specified for indoor areas. However, as this would lead to a very high false alarm triggering rate, the LMC13x series contains an additional function that can be used to switch to detection software for outdoor areas. This is the reason for the designation "Semi-Outdoor". This fact must be taken into account during planning until further notice.
